Week 32
Mum:
As the due date approaches, you will have more questions about what labour will feel like. Some women say that labour is extremely painful, whereas others say that they had little pain. Everybody has different pain thresholds and one pregnancy might be totally different from the other, even for the same mother. The most important thing is to rest as much as possible since you will need lots of energy during labour, irrespective of whether it is a painful one or not.
Relaxin, which is the pregnancy hormone, softens the hip joints and this will cause you to waddle! This, together with the extra weight, will cause more pressure on the back and therefore it is very important to stand up straight to prevent back pain.
Baby:
The rapid weight that your baby has gained in the past weeks in mainly due to an increase of fat stores and muscle. S/he can move his or her head to the side, however due to lack of space, the movement will slowly decrease. Most of the wrinkles will now be disappearing from your baby’s body and there may be a lot of hair too.
Dad:
By now most things would be ready, and you would be anxiously waiting for the delivery and wondering how life would be after the birth of your angel. Ensure that you have chosen a pediatrician for your child.
