Week 30

Mum:

Most pregnant women may experience swelling of the ankles and legs, especially when it is very hot. While mild swelling is very common, it is important to contact your gynecologist if your hands or face begin to swell as well, if swelling lasts for more than 24 hours or if it is accompanied by rapid weight gain. Proper nutrition may reduce the chances of developing this condition called preeclampsia.

It is important to exercise. A 10 minute walk will do all the difference since it helps maintain energy levels and increases your stamina for birth.

Baby:

Your baby now opens and closes his/her eyes and even has hair now. S/he is also very aware of the surroundings and although we perceive the uterus to be a dark place, however, it can be light and dark depending on the mother’s environment.

Dad:

When attending childbirth classes, you might suffer from information overload. However, do not panic, things will fall in place as weeks fold in and during labour you will be in the good hands of your carers.
